2017 Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals – Photos and More!
Recapping a Remarkable Weekend
This year, Aspen Snowmass hosted the 2017 Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals March 15th-19th, showcasing the best men’s and women’s alpine ski racers in the world. These Finals were the first outside Europe since 1997 and the first return of the men’s World Cup to Aspen for the first time since 2001.
We are honored to have been a part of such an amazing event and (like that guy that comes back from his amazing adventure overseas who just wants you to watch his travel slideshow) we just want to share it all with you!
Here are some photos documenting the whole mess of amazingness that went on behind the scenes during those epic races.
Premier Party Rental is very proud to have been the premier supplier of rentals for this historic event.
Our team already had a great relationship with Ski Co before the World Cup Finals. We also have that necessary understanding of the way the mountain runs.On-mountain install requires not only more time and coordination to pull off… it is more complicated, skilled, and nuanced than simply installing a tent at a residence. There was never any question as to if we would be able to handle the sensitive timeline and schedule required for this caliber of event.
This whole shebang was a total team effort.
Every single one of our team members was involved at one point or another. Depending on the day, we would have up to 16 of our men on site at different locations installing and building. Our carpentry team was busy installing custom projects all around: custom door frames that would house doors on the VIP tents and Base Staff Volunteer Services tents as well as custom rope railing down at the decking at Wagner Park.
Overall, we supplied 26 tents and it took our team 3 weeks to build out.
And that’s just on our end… there was additional time involved for the other vendors hired to build the decking, stands, fences, etc. that took place prior or post our install. We started on 02/28 and haven’t stopped since.
Everything from the VIP Tent up had to be loaded in and out via snowcat.
It was quite the process. First, we would haul everything up the mountain on sleds. Then, after installing the frame of the tents, we’d pass the project off temporarily to another vendor to install heating. Finally, we would finish off the project by coming in to install vinyl, lighting and safety equipment.
The bulk of our contribution was providing our Losberger Clearspan tenting for all areas (VIP, Base Staff Volunteer, Ruthies, Security, and most tenting at Wagner Park).
In Wagner Park, you may have noticed there was no shortage of vendor tents.
We provided the tenting for the retail shop tent for Ski Co, the medical tent, the Front of House tent, autograph tent, and tenting for Gorsuch Haus and Longines (the company that provides the timing for the races).
We provided a huge range of tent sizes.
Up at Ruthies we had tents that were 20’X30′ and 20’X40′. At the VIP decks, we had a 30’X70′ and a 40’X60′. We installed these ones with a combination of white walls and custom plexi-galss walls provided by another vendor. Then over at Wagner Park we had 10’X10’s, 20’X20’s, 20’X30’s, and one 20’X40′ tents. These were a mix of Festival and Losberger style.
We also provided the start tents on the top of the mountain and each night we would trade these out for different sizes depending on the next day’s races.
We provided all of the VIP rentals that got switched out daily (dinnerware, glassware, flatware, napkin rollups).
For VIP Wagner Park tent, we provided our famous antler chandeliers.
We also provided all of the rentals that keep the party going… this means we were behind all the tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, and miscellaneous rentals throughout the event at the Public concessions, timing buildings, live show, and the Operations office.
