8 Perfectly Green Floral Arrangements

Pantone’s Color of the Year is Greenery and we are fully embracing it.

We asked some of our fave florists to submit their best greenery-inspired arrangements.  We also had them spill what their inspiration was behind their masterpieces and how they brought their vision to life.  Oh, AND had them dish out a pro tip for anyone else looking to create their own greenery inspired floral arrangements.

They knocked it out of the park.

1 // Clean and Pretty Aesthetic

Florist: Lauryl Lane, Botanical Stylist / Photographer: Leila Brewster / Event: Alex and Max’s Wedding / Event planner: Bluebird Productions / Venue: Private Residence near Aspen, CO / Premier’s Rentals Provided: Natural Wood Folding Chairs Ceremony, Market Umbrellas, Sailcloth Tent, Hardwood Flooring, Farm Chairs / Featured as one of Borrowed & Blue’s Top 50 Weddings 2017 and on The Knot.

How they pulled it off:

“This wedding was inspired by a clean, preppy aesthetic married with a rustic quality to suit the mountain-backdrop, so I wanted to create a lush and luxurious tablescape for the head table that reflected that juxtaposition. I wanted it to be interesting, yet low so that it didn’t obscure views or keep diners from conversing with each other. We made a garland of salal leaves and plumosa vine, which I laid down the center of the table, with plenty of overlap on both ends to create that beautiful drape. Next we added clusters of white blooms throughout the garland, along with mini white pumpkins for added visual interest. Birch slices became pedestals for rich ivory pillar candles, and additional taper candles in brass candleholders were added to complete the look!.”  -Lauryl Lane, Botanical Stylist

Pro tip:
“One of the simplest ways to create a green tablescape is to purchase lots of small green plants, put them into coordinating pots, and cluster them tightly in (or down) the center of the table. There’s basically no prep required, and green plants add so much to a table!“  -Lauryl Lane, Botanical Stylist

 2 // Fresh and Monochromatic

Florist: Mora’s Floral Designs

How they pulled it off:
Mora’s Floral Designs created this gorgeous St. Patrick’s Day-inspired arrangement using a playful mix of green flowers and greenery. This is living proof that a monochromatic arrangement is neither boring nor classless.

Pro tip:
Add heavier greens or fruit to the bottom of the vase to add extra depth and color.

3 // Summery Greens

Florist: Carolyn’s FlowersPhotographer: Laura Murray Photography / Event: Marina and Brendan’s Wedding / Event planner: Gold Leaf Event / Venue: Aspen Meadows / Premier’s Rentals Provided: White Ceremony Chairs, Gold Chiavari Chairs, Mirrored Bar, White Linens

How she pulled it off:
“Using southern smilax vines and aspen tree branches, we softened the stark McNulty Room creating a greenery grid on the ceiling and creating tall, lush centerpieces to create height.  As always, we love to use locally sourced/foraged greens like aspen tree branches to “bring the outside in” and to use materials native to the area.” -Carolyn, Carolyn’s Flowers

Pro tip:
“Overall, I would suggest to my my clients not to be afraid to go tall, as it doesn’t necessarily cost more and it really helps fill the space….especially when the ceilings are tall.” Carolyn, Carolyn’s Flowers

How they pulled it off:
“This couple wanted create a grand entry in the contemporary and somewhat industrial entry space and the bride really loves the look of green hanging ivy.  This rustic wall was dressed in over 75 ivy plants, southern smilax vines and petite floral arrangements.  It created a beautiful photo backdrop as well!  The abundant candle light added warmth and ambiance to the cool, gray tile and glass entry.”  Carolyn, Carolyn’s Flowers

5 // The Perfect Hue to Pair with Pantone’s Color of the Year

Florist: Park Floral Design / Photographer: Connie Whitlock / Event: Megan and Zack’s Wedding / Event planner: Bluebird Productions / Venue: Marble Distilling Co. in Carbondale, CO / Premier’s Rentals Provided: White Linen, Brushed Gold Flatware, Coupe Plates, Excalibur Glassware, Natural Wood Folding Chairs for Ceremony / Featured in: Style Me Pretty

How they pulled it off:

The bride really loved the whites with a pop of orange, and we incorporated a lot of vining greenery to soften the look and create an impactful centerpiece. My inspiration was drawn from the bride’s love of the color palette.” -Ashley Swapp, Park Floral Design

Pro tip:
“Creating a green arrangement can be easy! It doesn’t have to ALL be green – create something you love with focal blooms and go forage in your yard or neighborhood for greenery that ties in the season and brings that natural, easy element.” -Ashley Swapp, Park Floral Design

6 // Earthy Tones and Succulents

Florist: Mountain Flowers of Aspen / Photographer: Wendy Blakeslee / Event: Private Event / Venue: Red Mountain / Premier’s Rentals Provided: Farm Chairs

How they pulled it off:
“The goal was to create an interesting and textural arrangement. The client asked for a vibe that was “organic, wild and different” in her floral décor. It was created by using a manzanita armature as the base. We were inspired by the greenery color palette, using succulents and the opportunity to use a variety of botanicals with lots of texture.” -Nancy, Mountain Flowers of Aspen

Pro tip:
If you need help pulling together an arrangement, visit Mountain Flowers for a wide selection of beautiful succulents and gorgeous fresh flowers. “We love to offer ideas and inspiration for creating stunning floral arrangements.” -Nancy, Mountain Flowers of Aspen

7 // Foraged from the Forest

Florist: Bare Root Flora / Photographer: Shannon Von Eschen / Event: S’mores Filled Forest 3rd Birthday Party / Event Planner: Ashley Nicole Events / Venue: Boulder, CO / Featured in: Style Me Pretty

How they pulled it off:
This was for a magical woodland-themed birthday party my dear friend and incredible wedding photographer Shannon Von Eschen designed (and photographed) for her son’s third birthday! We wanted to style something very organic and textural to act as a focal point for the larger overall woodland look of the room. -Robyn, Bare Root Flora

Pro tip:
“Mix up your materials, in shape (is it a long leaf? A draping piece? Full, broad leaves or small, delicate ones?) color (there are so many shades of green–make sure to vary them to give your arrangement depth), and texture (Does it have pods or berries or some other texture?). You want it to be eclectic but still harmonious–just like in any other arrangement, you want all the pieces to marry together beautifully and create more than the sum of their parts.” -Robyn, Bare Root Flora

8 // Loose, Organic, and Textured

Florist: The Aspen Branch / Photographer: Beth Gill, Owner of The Aspen Branch / Event: An Upcoming Wedding

How they pulled it off:
“Inspired by natural and organic vibes, this arrangement was created as a prototype for an upcoming wedding. The goal was to use a beautiful compote container with mixed greens and succulents in a loose organic style.” – Fallon, The Aspen Branch

Pro tip:
“Look at greens just the same as you would florals. Texture and various shades of color are important.” – Fallon, The Aspen Branch
